BUCS Cricket
BUCS is the central body in the UK that runs and organizes inter-university and inter-college sport. With 157 member institutes and over 100,000 students taking part in the various BUCS leagues and competitions  for a broad range of sports over the year; it is an important and highly regarded competition that the Men's Cricket Club is very proud to be able to compete in.

The Club enters 3 teams into BUCS playing outdoor cricket during April and May. The fixtures see each of the teams playing other universities, with the 1st XI playing against English universities while the 2nd XI play Scottish universities the length and breadth of Scotland. Whilst the season is short due to the weather, each team still plays 5 games to determine their ranking in the BUCS leagues, as well as several friendlies (both pre-season and during the season)

After a successful promotion last year, this year the Men's 1st XI are playing in the North of England Premier B league, just one division below MCCU ranked universities!

1st XI
The Men's 2nd XI will be playing in BUCS Scottish 1A, having finished 4th in their first season in the league. With a talented squad of players, the team is hoping for a strong showing and challenging for a top table finish!

Last but not least, with a surge of players joining the Club this year we are fielding a Men's 3rd XI who will be competing in BUCS Scottish 2A. This is aimed at granting fringe 2nd XI players the opportunity to play outside and develop their skills.

We wish all of our teams good luck in the upcoming season: you can keep up with the results and the match reports on our Fixtures page.
